I think the distinction is this: when "Communists" censor newspapers and arrest unionists it's in the name of the revolution. When "fascists" censor newspapers and arrests unionists it's in the name of counter-revolution.

________

CB: You forgot one group: Liberals/Social Democrats, who also censor/control mass media and arrest unionists and communists. The identification of Communists and fascists is a typical bourgeois big lie. The fascists are a bourgeois political trend.

I swear, exposure to so many self-identified "Marxists" on the net over the last couple of years has made me rethink my self-identification, and deepened my appreciation for the democratic achievements of bourgeois society (as flawed and hypocritical as they are).

__________

CB: Well, this is sort of my point. Since I have been reading your posts your thinking has always seemed to mix "appreciation" of bourgeois principles with dashes of socialist principles. But I doubt that you were more "socialist" before meeting "self-identified Marxists". That sounds like scapgoating Marxists for thinking the way you have always wanted to think, as if Marxists made you more bourgeois.
