Empirically unverifiable, to put it gently. There hasn't been a critique of the anti-Haider demos in ages, and it's not as if your own views weren't represented in the thread. In reviewing the subject lines of recent threads, I see lots about executive pay, East Timor, A16, the EITC, the disaster of Russia, the crackdown on civil liberties, the virtues and limits of Canadian nationalism, Cuba, debt repudiation, the wisdom of shutting the IMF, unions, "globalization," central banking, the relevance of Marx and Lenin, the nature of Israeli citizenship, Mugabe and the crisis in Zim, Kerala as a development model, the political relevance of Naomi Klein, left-right alliances, the closure of LM, Vietnam, the nature of money and the limits of easy credit, Ralph Nader, the new NLR, the organization of janitors, immigration, free speech, the pope, Chomsky, Popper, imprisonment and crime, the cultural cold war, North Korea, Nike, socialism and democracy, China, market socialism, global warming....
Of the last 3000 posts, the word "desire" appears in 105. I suspect for some that's 105 too many.
