US faces electricity shortage

Another problem. Electric utilities started downsizing their
workforces, equipment and inventories of pieces-parts even before
deregulation. Deregulation has only accelerated this trend. So there
is a big lack of trained personnel to maintain and repair electrical
systems and a good chance of not having on hand the necessary equipment
or pieces-parts when something breaks, burns, or blows up.
I'm sure that Les or Enrique would be glad to explain the physics
involved.
