I don't see the DLC humping for SS privatization very much right now. Gore has a strong position, albeit a bad one, for debt reduction and protecting the Trust Fund. Bush's plan can be shown to endanger both. There is not much to fear in Bush's proposal, IMO.

It will be interesting to see when and to what extent Gore buckles under pressure from the Democratic Leadership Council on Social Security privatization. Then there is the little matter of our socialist/communist
:o) spending on defense contractors. And let's not forget about NAFTA,
GATT, WTO and China PMFN. Oh. Yeah and I'm going to stay up nights worrying about who gets appointed to the Supreme Court.
