I still think the royal family should be mooned next month, if the Movement Against the Monarchy can get close enough.
I agree that there is a lot of fundamentalism in science. Shit, I see some of it working for a science association. It seems to me that many of the biotoech researchers subscribe to the dogmatic belief that everything they do is good for science and humanity. They aren't interested in having a dialogue with critics--they want to spend time figuring out ways to convince the public that biotech is good for them. Just look at the fight in Switzerland in 1998 over genetic technologies.
I'm not totally opposed to biotechnology, but given the billions of dollars floating around and people who are more interested in profits, instead of the health of people and the planet, I say put the brakes on and stop the car.
I don't think we're going to see an open debate as long as biotech companies sponsor sessions at scientific conferences.
These are my opinions.
