Interesting little article in the Tageszeitung, describing a recent protest march in Dortmund against racism. Looks like their kids are being radicalized just like ours:

[My own translation]: "...some days ago in Dortmund there was a demonstration against this. For the 102 high school students who joined with 20,000 other protestors against 600 neo-Nazis, this October 21st became a bitter lesson in what democracy is all about. They were beaten by the police, cursed at, and detained until late in the evening. When they were finally free, they returned in shock and in tears to the arms of their parents. The police intends to sift through video recordings and turn over the results to the state prosecutor. "Are these recordings going to be used to brand our sons and daughters as radical extremists?" the parents wanted to know. The answer of a police spokesperson: "After we evaluate the material, the result could just as easily exonerate them." The intention is clear: next time, stay home!"
