Mr Sawicky, That's exactly correct: the nationalist labor left in this country has sought relief first and foremost in protectionist and China-baiting politics with the collapse of redistributive policy and industrial strikes--damn the consequences on the rest of the world. So you joined one of Milikan's politicians and ended up putting Bush into office. It is only appropriate that the misguided anti globalization protests has led the left to put Bush in office (of course you wake up every morning to the damage you have done and pray that Gore will win the recount). Then you try to convince yourself that a Bush presidency will be no worse than a Gore one...at least if you have taken your chill pills. You would all deserve yourselves if you weren't responsible for the pain you are going to cause others. The fundamental problem for the left is the left--in its nationalist Sawicky Naderite form, its bureaucratic Alterman Democratic form, its Henwood which way is the wind blowing form. Warm regards, Jan
