The caveat to this is that some districts are more plaintiff friendly than others, which is why the astute plaintiff attorney will, whenever possible, "shop" for the most plaintiff-friendly district in which to file, particularly when going for class-action status.

For example, in Harris County, Tx (Houston), juries tend to find for the defendant corporation more than the national average. Not surprisingly, tort reform is rather popular here. However, in Jefferson County (Beaumont area), where the general population was raised on the medical pitfalls of H2S exposure, juries tend to be very plaintiff friendly and gracious in their judgements.
