> Progress, progress, sayeth Doug.

Hey, Doug, I can even ask psuedo-Socratic questions like you...

Since the defeat of Gore and the Democrats was an important political goal for you, which Bush policy do you look forward the most to see implemented:

1. A constitutional amendment banning abortions? 2. An end to affirmative action? 3. 15 minute reviews before sending convicted prisoners to their deaths? 4. A generation of Scalias and Thomases on the Supreme Court and the federal bench? 5. Reactionary, anti-labor hacks running NLRB, OSHA, etc.? Anti-public education hacks running the Department of Education? And so on. 6. Replacement of federal aid to public schools with voucher money for private schools? 7. Refusal to add "sexual orientation" into anti-discrimination and anti-hate crime laws? 8. Tax breaks for the wealthy? 9. Massive additional spending on the military? 10. An end to federal spending on the arts?

Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never has, and it never will. If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters. -- Frederick Douglass --
