Well, brother Dennis, it's clear that you do not get out much. Check my second reply to dd to see some of the prominent Repubs who have come out against these policies, and who've survived what charges of apostasy they've encountered, though I think you'll find said charges were levelled by pro-Drug War/Death Penalty Dems.

Yes, there are many pro- and/or crytpo-fascists who buy into the Law & Order status quo. After all, it is a profitable racket. But the lines aren't as clear as they once were, and it's time that those on the left who care about such issues wake up to this fact.

As for shooting, I'll go up against any Repub. Just did some target shooting last weekend amid a crowd of hunting enthusiasts that would make Alex Cockburn shiver with excitement.
