A company that goes belly up, esp. a new economy company. Before there was www.fuckedcompany.com, there was (and still is) The Falco Watch. It was an ongoing contest run by Need To Know, a sarcastic british nerdletter (www.ntk.net), to spot the earliest signs and rumors of dot.com ruination. The phrase going falco derived from Falco, the Austrian musician (most famous song: Der Commisar) who had just died around the time they started their competition, in February 1998.
