Is the UFT still run by unreconstructed cold warriors? Back during the Dinkins years, Sandra Feldman refused to appear at an anti-austerity rally because there'd be "avowed Communists" on the platform. And wasn't the UFT dreaming some dream of displacing the "leftwinger" Sweeney from the AFL-CIO? Or am I misremembering?
