No it's not. The standard in a criminal case is beyond a reasonable doubt, whether the charge is jaywalking or mass murder. This is not even debatable. (Trust me, I'm a lawyer! ;)) And they were convicted of espionage, not conspiracy to commit treason: you can look up the opinion.
