The news story reporting the new ILO study of worker stress, anxiety, etc. emphasizes "lost productivity." But lost productivity via absenteeism, etc. must be adjusted for productivity gained by speedup, compulsory OT, stretch-out and other capitalist exploitative gimmickry which is what stresses out workers. If you subtract productivity lost via absenteeism, etc. from productivity gained via speedup et al., net lost productivity may be much less than stated. Jim O'Connor
