Imagine there are a lot of leftists who take themselves seriously.
To them Gore's babblings are not impressive. The latest poll out in Minnesota show Bush leading Gore something like 44% to 40% with Nader fulling 8%. In my neighborhood Nader lawn signs outnumber those of any other presidential candidate. (There is only one house with a Bush sign.) The people I have met so far who are vocal supporters of Gore are all either stupid people or are Democratic party hacks.
Gore's appeal to the left in terms of any statements with content is very limited.
One odd thing:
The commie at the coffee shop near where I work who used to have a lot of Nader stuff posted along side of signs saying things like "Property is the cause of crime." now took them down, and he put up a picture of Buchanan next to the portraits of Marx and Breshnev that he has taped to the wall. Maybe he has decided that Buchanan is the most radical candidate.
