CHARLTON ARMS HIS ANGELS

"When someone makes a major action movie with no guns, a lot of people in America get worried . . .." So begins the pitch for Charlton's Angels, Countingdown.com's Charlie's Angels spoof trailer. It's already a hot link on right-wing Websites like Free Republic. And why not? It's more fun than a barrel of NRA promotional videos. Three air-chopping babes light into a bunch of gun-toting kidnapper heavies. "But the Angels soon discover kung-fu is no match for an AK-47." Routed in a hail of bullets, they're rallied by an off-camera master who arms them to the teeth, with better results. "Good morning, Angels," a deep and familiar voice says in the final sequence. "Good morning, Charlton," the re-tooled Angels meekly reply.
