Sadly, you are right. I'm putting my efforts behind the team with the best chance of winning and from now on will greet uses of "ilk" with the cry of the floppy-horned Northern European Ilk ("ulk! ulk! ulk!"). There may be a lesson in this for Nader supporters, but I doubt it.
