The rotten journalism virus still spreading

These articles *always* point out that the protests are organized via internet, and that the internet is presented as the harbinger of globalization. Is it just me, or weren't there a few other things that have precipitated globalization more, like money markets, free trade agreements, war, and colonialism?

The net is just an unexpected, democratic abberation.
