yes, as chaz told you, you are soon going to see me as prometheus! i see you have begun making your way along the path of enlightenment, young one! it is my birthday tomorrow, i reserve the right to treat everyone as if i am ancient and wise now.

actually, that's the easy answer. everyone already knows this. what is more intriguing is that we know that there are plenty who don't have a problem with paying taxes and that there are many geeks who never get dicked around by .gov because they aren't hackers. so then you start to wondering: what explains that? so you want to get at the reasons why there isn't *complete and total* domination of libertarianism among geeks.

it's like someone once said to me: in a world in which no one is forced to vote, the more interesting question is, "why do 50% vote at all?" not "why do *only* 50% vote."
