Punk is every bit as much a political philosophy as it is a musical one. For a good explanation of this, see *The Philosophy of Punk* published by AK Press. Or run down to your local bookstore and buy a copy of the excellent *Punk Planet* magazine.
Punk has always had its apolitical elements, but that tendency seems to be waning. From the word I've gotten on the street, more and more bands are getting political, in the anarchist sense.
