Like Rome? =============== Pre toilet Seattleites had a genuine "sixth sense" as to when not to sit on the crapper lest the great tides of Elliot bay engage in a little reverse plumbing [you will not visualize this now]. Folks welcomed the fire of 1889 so they wouldn't have to climb several hundred feet of makeshift stairs to take [leave] a dump. After the fire, downtown was literally raised 3 floors to get rid of Elliots Revenge. Legend has it that the "aroma from Tacoma" comes from when the Seattle city gov. just sent the stuff, via real cheap piping, way out into the bay where it drifted south :-)
