Sorry about this, Ken. I guess I'll have to take the zero again. I just checked a rant on Nicene creed and realized I had the roles of Rome v. Constantinople reversed. It was Rome that wanted to pull church doctrine to the west, and isolate the East, since the variants on the trinity doctrine were held in Constantinople, Antioch, and Alexandria. I had the date wrong too, 325 instead of the 340s.
What was I thinking? Must have been the fish.
