An extended period? From what I've seen of the fortunes of Seventh Avenue
clients, the ability of fashion-related enterprises to generate durable
brand equity is problematic at best.

No doubt, but . . .
That something is capital does not hinge on whether
or not it is a bad investment -- that it doesn't work,
or that its benefits do not justify its costs.
If these brands are so worthless, why is so much
money spent on them? Is there such a rift between
ownership and management?
