Mr DeLong's train of thought may be crystal clear to the rest of you here, but frankly I have little idea what he is getting at. Rock n' roll is unfit or already beneath this society as it represents a a dilution of the haunting, beautiful, and rebellious blues music of say Muddy Waters. Mr DeLong may not be aware that this country has a profound race problem that has meant the swallowing up of its own greatest musical traditions.
