One might title this "If only the Socialist Party had the money for a media campaign".
In a survey published on September 24 on its non-partisan "SpeakOut.Com" list of candidate ratings, out of 208,941 people who had taken the survey of candidates on SelectSmart.com the following ranking suggests what might happen if the Socialist Party campaign were being run on anything like the funds of the other minor party campaigns.
Anyone can take the quiz by going to SelectSmart.com. There are a series of questions which you answer and, after answering, you press "enter" and find out which candidate most closely represents your views. Those of you getting this can take the quiz for yourself. It is set up by a man in Oregon who is not affiliated with the Socialist Party in any way. The poll has caught the attention of the media throughout the campaign as people discovered that in one out of five cases their favorite candidate was the Socialist Party nominee, David McReynolds.

Bush 15.2% (31,656 votes) Howard Phillips 12.0% (24,970 votes) Harry Browne 11.0% (22,885 votes) Alan Keyes 10.2% (21,240 votes) Ralph Nader 6.2% (12.916 votes) John Hagelin 3.5% (7622 votes) Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan 2.1% (4391 votes) John S. McCain .1% (108 votes)
Those taking the poll cannot vote for a candidate by name, they can only answer the questions and then find out which candidate matches their own views.
