Cali power crisis

The *really* interesting thing about this whole power mess is much more personal, for myself, and possibly a lot of other people.

I currently live in the South Bay of Los Angeles, Torrance to be exact, and am serviced by Southern California Edison.

If things were to *really* get out of hand, with consumer rates that were so high they might start to rival my rent payments, I may be forced to move back to the central part of Los Angeles, which would then put me back under the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP).

For those unaware, the city of Los Angeles *proper* (*not* the *county*, but the *city*) is NOT having any power crisis. Power in the *city* of Los Angeles is controlled and regulated by the DWP (they own the infrastructure), and they have avoided the mess that the rest of the state finds itself in.

This could get really interesting in terms of what it could lead to, if people who are now living just outside the city and in other parts of the county, including businesses, end up moving to the city proper and abandoning the outlying areas.

Things that make you go hum...
