I may be more ignorant than evil. Here's what I know: 1) The main way that Israel got into the graces of the US was by cooperating closely with the CIA (after WWII) via the Jews that immigrated to or were sympathetic to Israel. These Jews were able to offer a great deal of information that would have been otherwise unobtainable....Information about the east european states, the former soviet union, other arab states. The way that Israel got its nuclear capability was through espionage -- mostly in the US. Both these points are documented in great detail in the book "Dangerous Liasons" by Leslie and Andrew Cockburn.
I am no fan of nations...the only time I felt "nationalistic" was when Nadia Comanici was doing gymnastics...but this dual loyalty thing seems real enough.
At any rate, since Israel is always raising the flag about an Arab "fifth column," and the shoe fits....
I mean are Catholics a nation?
