Actually, It has been a good while since Soviet support has ended. Cuba is still there.

He didn't say puppet, he said annex. No, of course they don't "automatically do whatever the US tells it to do" -- sometimes there is the pretense that they're disobeying orders (to take the heat off the US); sometimes there are actualy conflicts; but, despite this, the US finds them to be the most useful country in the world...otherwise they would not support them to the extent that they do. I do not think they extend that support for moral reasons.

Every state claims to represent the interests of the "volk". Israel claims to represent the interests of Jews world-wide, but I would argue that if it continues in its present strain, it actually presents the greatest danger to jews world-wide.
As for suicidal tendencies, as Hitler put it in Mein Kampf: "Better and end with horror, than horror without end." What would you call that a recipie for?
