If Israel is a nation, we would have to say
that if African-Americans
settled in some area where they
tended to dominate in terms of population
then they would be a nation too.

In pre-WWII Europe, actually, I think Jews
in Polant/Ukraine/Russia were a plausible
nation.  More so than Israel.  They had a
long-standing culture and language, whereas
Israel's was more or less synthesized to
fit political needs.
