and they'd say that they have freedom of speech :)

btw, does really _everybody_ in the us believe that f-o-s is the sine qua non condition of 'true' democracy (maybe i am making this up ?). today is the celebration of japan's surrender. there was a meeting about 'remembering the atrocities of the war' in town and we discussed the 'new history manual' for junior high schools and the falacies it contains about japan's history. on the way back a man, from the prefecture next door (ehime, from where the school boat 'ehime maru' that was sunk by a us sub came from) and he said somewhere in the conversation "i'd die for anybody's f-o-s even if that person is a fascist". and i thought for myself "i would not". everywhere in the world, especially where they are free, fascists have it _soooo_ easy that i really don't see what i would waste a second of my time fighting for their right while i could fight for the rights of the people they oppress.

CB: Right on , J.C. I'm with you on that. The person dying for fascists' free of speech, would be dying do that fascists could speak for destroying freedom of speech.
