Bionomics seems (from a brief glance at the website) to be somehow related to Complexity theory (Santa Fe Institute) which is a worthwhile subject of study.
I suspect that a lot of economists would suggest that complexity/chaos theory does not recommend command economies.
It would not surprize me that this rather naive sounding Chinese book is a way of supporting the Chinese freefall towards a market economy.
Just a speculation.
