This may be so (I wouldn't have a clue), but the ones who make it to the public ear are (thankfully) not C&W types. Mainly topical folksters (Archie Roach), assertive rocksters (eg Warumpi Band) and anthemic popsters (Yothu Yindi). I can at least recommend all three of those - not least because they're all good gutsy lyricists.
