Gas Prices

Here in the Midwest, prices for gasoline have been yo-yo-ing 30 cents a
gallon over the past couple weeks. Leaving aside the issue of fossil fuel
use for the time being, I'm finding it very strange that there are no
plausible reasons for these wild price fluctuations forthcoming from the
powers-that-be...in fact, they hardly even seem to be bothering to address
it...and even worse, the media does not seem to be pressing for answers
either. Is this happening elsewhere, and why is it happening at all? I
suppose I'm willing to believe the oil companies and all are manipulating
prices, but sheesh, when you do it this flagrantly, to such a
degree...you're calling unnecessary attention to your greed, and that's not
smart. I don't think the oil execs are that stupid.
