Vietnam foreign investment rises 14% in first eight months
HANOI VIETNAM licensed 281 new foreign-invested projects with combined registered capital of $1.138 billion in the first eight months of this year, the government said Monday.
The figures represent a 35.7 per cent increase on-year in the number of projects licensed and a 14.1 per cent increase in their total value, the General Statistics Office said.
Southern Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's commercial center, received the most new foreign investment. It received 101 new foreign-invested projects in the eight-month period worth a total of $238.9 million.
Details of additional investment in existing projects were not given. (AP)
