I think Doug's question was already irrelevant by the time he asked it (which is not to say I don't think a genuine police action, which would've put innocents at risk, but which would not have entailed sticks of bombs spewing from fat fifty-twos in the stratosphere, was the right response). Bush's prepared but instant response to the act of terrorism was 'this was an act of war, not terrorism'; his prepared but instant response to a fluid supranational terrorist organisation was 'we'll bomb their harbours'. After that, it's political death domestically and strategic maiming internationally, not to go in with the weapons of destruction. After that there could only be war.

And thus do I get back to my last post. Izzatso disingenuous?

Cheers, Rob.
