US using Ethiopian army for war on Somalia?

Le Monde reports that Somalians are expecting to be attacked by the
Ethiopian army shortly, with the blessing of the US.

The Ethiopians have been conducting regular punitive incursions against the
Qaeda-financed Somalian Al-Ittihad. According to Le Monde, Al-Ittihad, which
had instituted Taliban-style law&order at one stage, has been keeping a low
profile for several years but still has a strong following. A local
chieftain's subordinate interviewed by Le Monde in Lugh said that the
Ethiopians would have to "empty half the town to get rid of Al-Ittihad".
