the stuff Burton [executive privilege refusal of congressional subpoena] is after pertains to the Clintonoids. The Bushies are only protecting them because they want to establish a precedent for their own future benefit. mbs

------------

The possibilities of what is potentially protected by Bush's executive order are mounting quickly.

1) There are various election related materials from the Bush campaign, 2) the Enron collapse reported as the biggest in US history, 3) California and westerbn states utility collapse and Energy Dept refusal to regulate interstate rates, 4) and now the linkages between OBL, Saudi Arabia, Bush, Cheney, and US oil company interests.

Bush has been in office for less than a year and here are three major scandals and very likely criminal conspiracies between top Bush officials over US elections, money, oil, and terrorism.

Hmm, sounds delicious. They all sound interrelated. I can't wait for the cycles of denial, cover-up, hearings, reversals, denials, cover-up, hearings, and so on and so forth. Bush will have to keep the wars going during his entire administration, and ratch up the hysteria over terror and war to just stay ahead of the political catastropies.

Does anybody want to guess how long he can keep ahead of these looming avalanches? I am tempted to give him another three or four months before one of these starts to un-ravel---about the time the spring political campaigns start gearing up for Congress and governors.

Gray Davis is already in trouble over the utility crisis and his best way out of that is to pin it all on Enron, Bush, and prior Republican governor Wilson. Whether he has the nerve to is another matter. Henry Waxman might help. But who knows.
