They are not amoralists; they are devout and absolute
moralists.  That is the root of their fear.  They know
how far they are willing to go in the name of
rightness, and fear those that would do the same.  For
Bush and Co. they must be right and that right must be
absolute.  Their entire world view is premised on a
privileged place in nature and, more pointedly, in
God's nature.  They fear world views that place some
"other" on that privileged pedestal.  All one has to
do is read a little Old Testament and get some of that
ole time gospel to see where it comes from, i.e., the
conception of a chosen people.
