Why not? Human beings have amazing powers of cooperation and production (as well as destruction), and any socialist society of the future would liberate unimaginable amounts of talent and creativity. My Green comrades will probably kick me in the shins for saying this, but I can't help but feel that Adorno was on to something when he said that only additional concepts can fulfill what concepts themselves hinder. Translated into 21st-century-speak, only a new, genuinely global mode of production, based on planetary equal exchange, can fulfill the genuinely humane world that capitalism, a.k.a. the first genuinely global system of expropriation, hinders.
