You know, Credo Mutwa just doesn't go away. I recall that in Apartheid
days he was installed in a fake traditional village (in the bantustan of
Bophuthatswana, as I recall) and spouting ridiculous traditionalist
rubbish. And now, only recently, I saw him quoted somewhere as a 'modern
sage' and he certainly seems to have gained in respectability. (A search
for his name on Google reveals a collection of both the very bizarre and
also pretty maintstream praise for this faker!) The favourable writeup he
received in the Mail & Guardian just shows how low that 'liberal' paper
goes these days:
