No sign of it yet, mainly yanks: Citibank and JP Morgan skimming high-profit corporate business (no interest in retail though).

No, the ANC's neoliberal wing (which runs the Department of Finance) put out the red carpet for ANY foreign investor, even revolting French water privatisers. But the lefties are trying to dirty that carpet. For example, Jubilee 2000 SA and the Archbishop of CT, Njongonkulu Ndungane (who replaced Tutu), have been making appeals for Zurich banks to repay Free South Africa for their huge credits to apartheid (and not taking fifty years to do justice, as with their financial victims of Nazism). There's a full report on the campaign to make German and Swiss banks pay for odious lending, at http://aidc.org.za

Sadly, the Brit and US anti-apartheid movements have been sleeping on this one, though the better allies in 50 Years is Enough and World Bank Bonds Boycott are making a move at least in regard to the billions lent to apartheid by the BWIs. Payback time includes SA Jubilee's endorsement of the defunding of those bastards (http://www.worldbankboycott.org). And Citibank is also in the sights of the anti-bank campaigners here, for the same reason...

Cheers, Patrick
