oh in that case she could have written

music makes the maitre d' and the kettle (or ladle or pedal.) i mean, no sense need dictate word choice, so hey whatever. how's about this: Music makes the twiddledee and the twaddle.

iow, there are so many word possibilities, that the choice of one word and not countless others is, more often than not, purposeful. the writer/musician generally does try to make some sense. she juxtaposed bourgeoisie and rebel. that would suggest a rudimentary understanding of what the words means. typically bourg is counterposed to the proletariat or working class -- that's rare enough in typical US parlance. but to counterpose it to "rebel" is rarer still.

furthermore, if i'm not mistaken, there is some reason to believe, given her history with beatty, that she might not be altogether ignorant of some of the issues. and, even were beatty never in the picture, there's no reason to think that she's an ignoramus, even if she's a pop star.
