The FT seems to be watching a different trial. Their reporter (Jonathan Birchall) writing about the same third day, said: "Mr Dumas and his former lover have studiously avoided eye contact with each other during the proceedings, choosing to sit on opposite sides of the court."
It's almost as if the reporters were projecting in line with national stereotypes about affairs, the English that they are tragic, the French that they are romantic ;o)
