unnoticed political fact

Daschle is not up until 2004 and won pretty comfortably in his last race. Conrad was just reelected by a comfortable margin and has been pretty safe. Dorgan is also not up until 2004.

The Dakotas are odd places that vote pretty GOP for President but keep electing pretty liberal Dems for Senate - its an odd populism but then it has a long tradition of strange political alignments
