If the New Yorker had "pull quotes" the J. Edgar Hoover line that Kathy Boudin was, "The La Pasionara of the Lunatic Left, " would grab ones eyeballs. From glancing at, "Masters of Deceit, " one would have never guessed that Hoover could write anything but bureaucratic dreck. P.P.S. Leo' points about distinguishing between Lovestoneites, Shactmanites (left and right), left and right social democrats, Cold War Liberals and Neo-Cons, are well taken. There is some level of ideological and political continuity/similiarity in those labels and institional affilations though.
