Cornelius Castoriadis:
> ... I want the other to be free,
> for my freedom begins where the other's freedom begins....

Assuming Castoriadis wants to be free -- which seems to me almost like a tautology, for to desire anything implies the space in which desire can move -- then it seems to me this sums up the ethos of the Left, and the rest is décor or implication. But is freedom ethical? That would depend on who was handing ethicality out.
