This came up during the struggle against apartheid. In the early years of European settlement the bloodlines got mixed, just as they did a lot in the US. There are no pure "races." Part of racism is to assert, falsely, that they do. Part of the racist component of Zionism is to try to construct Jews into a "race," despite their great diversity.
