Perhaps then the common law rule of joint & several liability (= each and every defendant in a tort lawsuit is made liable for the entire amount of the plaintiff's damages, regardless of each defendant's proportion of fault for the damages done) is not a good one when it comes to sexual politics, in that under this rule gay male conservatives like Sullivan are likely to bear the burden of wrong doings of straight conservatives, male or female, who may not get caught advertising for any same-sex action, much less at Barebackcity.com, even though straight conservatives are in fact more responsible for the prevailing anti-gay sexual moralizing that oppresses us than gay male ones are.
