Another source on NWRO (besides a chapter in , "Poor People's Movements, " by P. and C., natch) is a bio of founder, George Wiley, www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=googlet&q=George+Wiley+Natio nal+Welfare+Rights+Union by ex-Washington Post reporter, Nick Kotz.

Years ago in the Golden Gate park, at some demo, I got to talking to a woman, that told a long yarn about the LaRoucheite inspired meddling in NWRO in the early 70's. Maybe this (add the Ford Foundation, with ex-Johnson admin. official, McGeorge Bundy role in in the Oceanville-Brownsville community control/UFT-AFT struggle in the late 60's) is part of the kwazy LaRoucheite insinuations that late SDS and IPS and NWRO were part of a sinister, McGeorge Bundy plot!

(Back to reality...) There is a newer NWRO, organizational continuity (?), which looks to be a front for the ex-Communist Labor Party, now the League of Revolutionaries for a New America which kept the name People's Tribune from Lenin, for their paper. Cherri Honkala, from the Kensington Welfare Rights Union outside Philly, is one of LRNA public faces. http://www.lrna.org/
