>From Buzz:

Michael Lopez-Calderon, until last week, taught at a Jewish school in Miami. But after the school received, anonymously, reports that he had made "pro-Palestine" comments on an email list to which he was subscribed, he was fired. --------------

Below is a statement from Mike:

Well, they have done it. After five years of exemplarily service to the Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy on Miami Beach, Florida, I was let go today because of the still anonymous monitors who essentially engaged in a form of character assassination, cyberspace terrorism, and economic blackmail.

My "pro-Palestinian" remarks, including a defense of the right to resist, remarks that as most of you know were made in the extemporaneous parameters of email discourse, were used to inflame opposition to my remaining at the Academy.

The monitors last night reached an all time low: they went beyond phoning and faxing parents, faculty, and rabbis. They actually called a number of my students. That is utterly disgusting.
